In cooler climes, spring is the season of new beginnings – but here in sunny Sarasota, autumn is the season when the city truly comes to life. And members who live at The Glenridge on Palmer Ranch can take advantage of it all: From theatre and ballet to music and visual art, there are artistic and cultural offerings to suit every preference … and the comfortable weather makes it a perfect time to explore festivals, performances and concerts indoors and out.
So, what’s on the program for November?
- Symphonic Dances at the Sarasota Orchestra. A must-listen for any classical music aficionado, the Sarasota Orchestra’s “Symphonic Dances” is a perfect start to the arts season – combining the warm sounds of Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and the dazzling energy of the Symphonic Dances of Rachmaninoff. Performances will be held from November 7-9, with tickets starting at $29.
- Cosí fan tutte at the Sarasota Opera. “Duplicity, disguises, and delightful deception” are at the heart of this timeless Mozart classic, which pits two sets of fiancés against each other in a battle of wits and mischief. Performances will run until November 15, with tickets available online.
- Art in Bloom at Selby Gardens. If you have a greener destination in mind, consider exploring The Orchid Show 2025 at Selby Botanical Gardens’ downtown Sarasota Campus. This year’s show blends botanical beauty with human creativity through a partnership with artist Rebecca Louise Law, known for her constructed “forests” of more than 2 million cascading dried flowers from around the world. General admission is $28 (or free for Selby members), and the exhibition is open through December 7.
- Sandsculpting on Siesta Key. From futuristic cityscapes to art nouveau tableaus – and even a few classic sandcastles – the white-sand creations at the Siesta Key Crystal Classic have to be seen to be believed. The festival’s 15th anniversary event will take place November 14-17, featuring a team of internationally recognized sand sculptors. One-day admission for seniors is $18, or $16 if you buy online before October 31.
- Celebrating Creativity at the Living Arts Festival. Spanning the “Cultural Coast” of Florida – from Bradenton to Sarasota to Venice – this week-long festival presented by nonprofit Sarasota Rising celebrates all forms of art. From live theatre, dance and music to visual art pop-ups, you’ll be dazzled by the variety of displays from participating arts organizations. This year’s festival will run from November 2-9, and ticket prices vary by location.
Still looking for more? Sarasota doesn’t disappoint. From autumn through spring, you’ll find more festivals (like the Sarasota Fall Fine Art Festival, Nov. 15-16), world-class museum exhibits at the Ringling Museum and the Sarasota Art Museum, and a spectacular winter season at the Sarasota Ballet.
And here at The Glenridge, you have a front-row seat to the best art and culture Sarasota has to offer – with elegant amenities and vibrant programs and classes, right here on our lush 150-acre campus.
