Life Through a Different Lens

Life Through a Different Lens

A change of pace. New adventures. Refreshing possibilities.  At The Glenridge, members find a stimulating environment that gives them the freedom and opportunity to view the world in new and different ways.

Take the Glenridge Academy, for instance – our lifelong learning program where members attend courses on topics ranging from Tsarist Russia to digital photography … and occasionally teach classes, too. Or the Theatre District, our on-campus destination for live entertainment, music and comedy. Or our Fitness Center, where members can strike up a game on our HAR-TRU® doubles tennis courts or enjoy pickleball and bocce with friends.

The list goes on – but no matter where you look, you’ll find thought-provoking programming and a vibrant, engaged community. And, as our members will tell you, life does indeed look better here:

  • Pursuing New Passions. Jo Newberry, an avid member of the Glenridge Butterfly Garden, says moving to The Glenridge has allowed her to discover new interests – including raising Atala butterflies, an endangered species native to Florida. “Since moving here, I’ve started to do so many things I would have put off,” she says. “Before, I had to seek out opportunities for art, creativity, and learning – but here, I’m surrounded by them!”
  • Getting Involved. Mary Nell Hill says joining the Glenridge keeps her busy – whether she’s tending her plot in the community garden or attending meetings of the community Gardening Club. “Life is more full here,” she says. “More friends, so much more to do – and so many things to be involved in, that you could be busy every day! If I had just stayed in my house by myself, it would be a very different life. It’s a total change.”
  • Staying Connected. When Anne and Ernie Nagy were looking for the right community, they knew a strong social network was a must. “We wanted to plan things for the future, and at The Glenridge we’re in an environment where we can continue to grow as we age,” they say. “There’s a sense of commitment and connection here – that we’re all creating community together.”
  • Growing and Learning. Whether she’s entering photography shows or taking classes, Carlotta Parsons always looks for ways to explore her creative side – and among The Glenridge’s art-loving community, she’s in good company. “It’s a place where people keep growing and keep gaining new interests,” she says. “It’s wonderful for people to try new things and discover, ‘Wow, I never knew I had that talent before.’”

The Glenridge abounds with engaging programming and world-class amenities – but what truly sets our community apart is the dynamic members who call our campus home.
