Discover the Perks of “Downtown” at The Glenridge’s Theatre District

World-class entertainment. Stirring music and theatre. Bold, flavorful dining. Sarasota is known for its vibrant culture, and many longtime locals say there’s nowhere they’d rather be. But what if it were even easier to enjoy the best our city has to offer?

Enter The Glenridge’s new Theatre District: where the best of “downtown” culture comes to you.

It all starts with our Glenridge Performing Arts Center (GPAC), a sophisticated 260-seat jewel of a theatre with professional-grade sound and lighting systems. A venue created for audiences who recognize and appreciate quality, GPAC sets the stage for some showstopping performances.

From Verdi to Mozart to Billy Joel, our fall season is delivering on that promise with performances from some of Sarasota’s top talent. As the opening act on October 16, studio artists from the Sarasota Opera will perform highlights from their 2025 winter season – followed by Sarasota Orchestra’s “Mozart on the Road” (Oct. 27) and an evening of Billy Joel’s greatest hits with the tribute band Turnstiles (Nov. 1-2).

“It’s top-notch,” says member Anne Garfinkel, a longtime New Yorker and cultural arts enthusiast. “Even by Broadway standards.”

And our stunning new Theatre District raises the bar even higher. If you have a few minutes before the show, you can explore an ever-changing selection of works at our elegant Art Gallery or catch up with friends. And after the curtain falls, sit down for a dinner of globally inspired cuisine at the Kiltie Grille before you head home. It’s an “evening on the town,” all under one roof.

As a community of avid art-lovers, The Glenridge is also home to many season ticketholders at local theatres and performing arts organizations – and getting together to see a show at a downtown venue is just as effortless.

“When you go out for an evening at the opera or ballet, you should be having fun – not worrying about traffic, parking, driving in the dark, waiting for the valet or standing in line,” says Ben Turoff, Director of Member Life at The Glenridge. “That’s why we offer a private shuttle bus to and from the venue for added convenience.”

So, whether you’re taking in Sarasota’s top performers at their “home” or yours, you’ll be in for a night to remember!
