Whether you are looking for a challenging Nautilus® workout, a relaxing swim in the 75-foot heated lap pool, or a one-on-one session with a certified personal trainer, we can accommodate your needs. Completing the “picture of health”: comfortable locker rooms and lounges, an aerobics studio, two massage therapy rooms, two Har-Tru tennis courts, and Ping Pong. And, for those seeking low- or no-impact workouts, our pool is just five feet at its deepest, which is ideal for water aerobics.

CUSTOMIZED WORKOUTS DESIGNED BY A TRAINED EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST

Under the direction of an experienced exercise physiologist and gerontologist, The Glenridge Fitness Center takes a holistic approach to wellness, developing programs that address mind, body and spirit. With the goal of maintaining and improving quality of life, our staff can design customized regimens based on the functional fitness needs of our members. From cardio fitness . . . to strength training . . . to relaxation and stress reduction . . . The Glenridge can tailor a program that’s as individual as you are. Members who “stick with it” can find improvement in overall function as well as posture, flexibility, mobility and endurance.

  • Functional Fitness Intensive Sessions – focus on maximizing function in concentrated areas of the body – Balance, Posture, Feet, Hands, and the Back.
  • Programs are individualized for each participant based on data gathered during a simple series of tests and partnered with personal activity preferences.
  • Personal Training – one-on-one sessions, on land or in the pool, to support members in reaching their fitness goals.
  • Massage, reflexology sessions and acupuncture is also available.

When it comes to sticking with a fitness routine, experts will tell you that variety matters. That’s why The Fitness Center at The Glenridge provides choices, including:

  • Aqua Classes – ideal for cardiovascular, balance, flexibility and strength without the impact on the joints.
  • Mind/Body – such as Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates, and Restorative sessions – offers members opportunities to relax the body and mind.
  • Movement Sessions – Flexibility and “Feldenkrais” – concentrates on making movement easier and more efficient.
  • Strength – for members who prefer a group setting, utilizing various props to strengthen and increase endurance.
  • Brain Fitness Program – Sharpen Your Mind, Live Your Life. Improve Auditory Comprehension.  We offer the Brain Fitness Program which features six computer-based exercises for use on a PC or Mac.  These exercises speed up and sharpen how the brain processes and remembers sounds.
  • InSight Program – InSight features five computer-based exercises for use on a PC.  These exercises speed up and sharpen how the brain processes and remembers visual information.

For relaxation, we offer 30-, 45- or 60-minute massages in our comfortable and inviting massage therapy rooms. And, our massage therapists are also available to privately teach couples massage techniques
