The earth movers have arrived, and mass clearing and grading has begun. About 45 acres of the 60-acre site will be cleared at a pace of about an acre a day with 16 acres remaining as wetlands. The first subcontractor on site is Earth Trades, a full-service site development company that has served Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas since 2004. Other partners include general contractor DeAngelis Diamond and geotechnical engineers Universal Engineering Sciences.
